Welcome to Mountain View Elementary!
Mountain View opened its doors in 1995 and has served the northeastern part of Layton faithfully for almost 25 years. We are surrounded by a fabulous community, which brings many wonderful students into the school. We serve over 850 students from all over Davis County, mostly due to our PAL and Spectrum programs, but we also house many families from the base, which gives us a good variety of backgrounds. Students will have a good learning experience at Mountain View. They will be challenged academically and prepared to further their education at the secondary setting through our excellent faculty and school resources and our commitment to providing a quality education to all students attending.
A little about myself: My name is Chris Mudrow and I have been the principal at Mountain View since 2016. I attended Weber State University and received my BS in Elementary Education before I began teaching 5th and 6th grades at Creekside Elementary in Layton. I received my MS in Education and my Administrative Endorsement through Utah State University and have worked on the administrative side of education for the last 12 years. I have worked at several schools throughout the district, which has prepared me to serve as principal here at Mountain View. I am dedicated to making this school a continual place of learning and want, above all else, for the students to be safe and comfortable in their own learning.
The school is here to serve the students of this community and we want to make sure that anyone that comes through the doors is having a good experience. If there is anything we can do to make your experience any better, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know what we can do to make it better.
Thanks and let’s make it a great year!
